When I was a kid, I got together with some friends to form my first garage band. We were terrible but it didn't matter. Our first gig was at a local junior high school and we did great, and by great I mean we didn't get booted off the stage and we got paid.
I remember an early gig at the "rich kids" junior high. That night, I learned something else about being in a band. It was a great way to meet girls and I have two daughters to prove it. It seems like any Friday or Saturday night that we weren't playing, the guy who never got invited anywhere, "me", was invited to some party at somebody's house. And yes, I might have met you at one of those parties.
Now I'd love to tell you that I went on to have a great career as a rock star but that path was not in my future. It wouldn't pay the bills, especially with a wife and two little girls depending on me. Nope, it was corporate America, a host of great companies. I had a terrific career in business. And yes, I might have met you at one of those companies.
I lived in too many different cities to count, had lots of wonderful experiences. (OK, show of hands, how many of you have thrown out the first pitch at a MAJOR LEAGUE baseball game). I also met and married the girl of my dreams.
When I retired, Sharon insisted I have a hobby so I drove to Guitar Center and bought a digital Hammond Organ. I had guitars and I could plunk around but my first love was keyboards. From there it was a Leslie and a "Real" Hammond and now I've got too much gear. I knew there must be a way to have some fun and record this music in the new digital age so I bought some recording gear, hooked up with my friend from high school days, Randy, and we started making music together. You'll find some of my favorites here and the full catalog is here www.inception67.com . We produced over 40 songs and I'm very proud of them and I owe Randy a huge debt of gratitude for everything he taught me about writing and recording music. We are so far in the $$$ hole, they'll have to "mail in light" but man has it been fun.
But I've also had some things to say from time to time that were my own thoughts and ideas, along with a couple of cover songs I wanted to do. So I recorded these myself, my "solo" projects with a little help from my friends, and I launched this website to give those songs a voice. The songs below are my solo efforts. You can listen here or watch them on my You Tube Channel. A complete list of other places you can find my music is listed below.
Oh, and if you want a real Hammond B3 on your next recording, I can do that. Check it out here.
